This rare vessel has been kept out of thewater and under cover since 1962. The new Gardner 6LX was ordered by the American owner Mr E C Jameson and delivered in 1967. The engine was in store for 37 years.
During 2004 the new owners are now bringing Little Vigilant back to life to the highest of standards, as set out by the builders and upheld by Mr Jameson.
The engine was inhibited for storage after works testing in 1967 and was not installed. The engine was dismantled to clean the internals where the inhibitor fluid had hardened, and prevented the engine from being rotated.
It has now been installed under her new American owner, and kept in America, with the highest of workmanship and care still being upheld.
