When L. Gardner & Sons Ltd ceased volume engine production in the mid 90's, a number of ex Gardner engineers continued to supply reconditioned engines on a one off basis, thereby demonstrating a continuing demand for the efficiency, durability and refinement of the Gardner engine.
Gardner Marine Diesels came into being in 2004 to recommence the production of remanufactured engines, albeit at relatively low volumes on an on going basis. Thus the tradition of excellence dating back to 1868 is now being continued.
